background in… so many things… been in this body for 7+ decades, after all.

It started like this...

we stepped in. the music began. I got shivers from the top of my head to the tip of my toes!
permission to be IN my body, to feel ALL my emotions, to move MY body's way.
I knew I’d come HOME! … except for that freedance part … eeek!!!

wait! what?!!

I KNOW!!! That first time she said “freedance” I almost stopped moving! “I don’t know how… what if I do it wrong?!” so out of touch with the innate ability/need/desire to move that we are all born with!

let’s back up a bit… where did it all begin? 

With my ballet teacher’s unintentionally hurtful remark as a teen? With my dad, as we walked through the woods, he spouting the Latin names of trees, me soaking up the magic? When I built a handmade house with my then-husband and lived off the grid? When I inhaled my first essential oil and became fascinated with the emotional healing it held? With the physical therapist who told me about Nia? When my dear friend Jen Kissam first mentioned Richard Rudd’s Gene Keys (a path of gentle transformation)?! And we envisioned a circle of women. a sisterhood, a sanctuary, this journey of self-discovery and empowerment. YES, all of this and more!

So here I am…

playing with the movement arts I love ... exploring, revealing, embracing my Genius* ... weaving essential oils and the Gene Keys into the dance … birthing a fusion inspired by us, for us, from us … movement meditation for body and soul!

So, yes, that first invitation to freedance was the birth of Movement Alchemy, tho I didn’t realize it then. 🌱✨💥and who’d have guessed all those years ago, when mom didn't stock our frig with sodas and I grudgingly ate the fruit she served as dessert, that I'd feel called to this path and supporting women to thrive through movement. (thanks, Mom!)
